COP27 Joint Activities with Cairo Water Week 2022

Building on the Cairo Water Weeks (CWW) great success, the Egyptian government decided to put CWW 2022, which will be held from 16-19 October 2022, in Cairo, as a preparatory platform for COP 27.
• CWW 2022 will host the announcement of the Water and Adaptation Presidency initiative in a special session.
• CWW 2022 will host a special preparation session for the Water Day under the COP27 presidency agenda.
• CWW 2022 will host the second main High-Level Event “Policy Dialogues in Water Scarce Countries for Achieving SGDs”; the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt included CWW 2021 and the upcoming CWW 2022 within the global framework of the preparatory events for the 2023 Mid-term Review Conference. These two high-level events aim to develop the contribution of water scare countries’ messages to be submitted to the U.N. Conference on the Midterm Comprehensive Review of the Water Action Decade (WAD), March 2023. Results will be highlighted during the COP27 activities.
