Dr. Yasser Raslan is the current director of Nile Research Institute, National Water Research Center under the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation. Dr. Raslan has over 30 years of working experience in the field of river, and coastal engineering. His experience includes, field investigation, monitoring, analysis, and reporting. He participated in a large number of projects tackling problems in Nile Rivers concerning river navigation, bank protection and waterfront development, bridge pier scour, and human impacts on rivers. During his career he served in joint funded national development projects namely addressing River Nile Protection and Development, National Water Quality Monitoring, and Adaptation to Climate Change and Sea Level Rise in North Coast. Dr. Raslan was the director of Coastal Research Institute, Vice Chairman of Shore Protection Authority and director of Survey Research Institute. He published numerous reports and technical papers in river mechanics and hydraulics. Dr. Raslan received his B.Sc. in civil engineering from Cairo University in 1985, His M.Sc. and Ph.D. in River Mechanics and Hydraulics from Colorado State University in 1990 and 1994.
