Nourhan Abdelazim is an Assistant Lecturer at Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University and Minister Assistant for research and studies, Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation in Egypt. Abdelazim has 7 awards and honors in transboundary water governance and optimization of water systems. She represents Egypt in several global water organizations and is very keen to internationally address the Egyptian water security.
Abdelazim developed a full dynamic optimization model for dam operations across transboundary rivers using the latest algorithms, linked to a simulator that she programmed as well to assess the hydrological implications. She employs her efforts to seek the win-win scenarios towards the aimed regional and international water peace under the escalating global changes and challenges. Abdelazim also leads many environmental research and social impact assessments. Her educational background includes MSc in water resources systems and BSc in water engineering & environment. She actively participates in many international conferences, top water events, and prominent trainings at leading water institutions all over the world.
